Role Overview:
We are looking for a Settlement & Payments Specialist to join our team in Baku. In this role, you will be responsible for managing transaction settlements, overseeing payment flows, and ensuring timely payouts. The specialist will work closely with clients, financial institutions, and internal teams to guarantee accurate and timely payment processing.
This position is ideal for professionals with experience in settlements, payment operations, and financial administration in a fast-paced fintech environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee international payment operations, ensuring accuracy and timely settlements.
• Reconcile account balances and ensure accurate financial reporting of payment operations.
• Collaborate with clients and financial institutions to manage settlements, address inquiries, and ensure smooth fund transfers.
• Process and control invoice payments and settlements with financial partners.
• Execute and manage salary payments to employees.
• Investigate and resolve settlement-related issues, coordinating with banks, payment providers, and internal teams.
• Maintain detailed records of payment transactions in compliance with financial regulations and best practices.
• Prepare reports on settlement performance, transaction trends, and risk exposure for management.
• Contribute to process improvements and automation to enhance operational efficiency.
• Manage incoming and outgoing payments, ensuring timely execution in line with internal policies.
Requirements & Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in settlements, banking operations, or financial services.
• Strong understanding of payment flows, liquidity management, and financial operations.
• Experience in working with clients, companies, and financial institutions to manage settlements.
• Excellent client relationship management and communication skills, with the ability to resolve settlement-related issues effectively.
• Experience working with digital banking platforms and back-office systems for payment processing.
• Knowledge of financial reporting, reconciliation, and settlement software.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to identify and resolve transaction discrepancies.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume transaction environment with tight deadlines.
• Experience with digital assets or alternative payment methods is a plus.
Computer Skills:
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (PivotTables, data analysis, financial modeling).
• Experience with financial transaction monitoring and reconciliation software.
• Knowledge of payment systems and banking platforms.
• Experience using agile project management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence) for tracking settlements and operational tasks.
